| The above 3S design reflects the movement of water,
and forms our corporate emblem. We express our above-stated management
philosophy with the catchphrase as follows. |

The term Sekisui, meaning "a vast amount of accumulated
water", comes from an ancient Chinese book, written in the 4th century
BC by a famous authority on war tactics, Sun-tsu, after whom the book
was named. |

to have his men fight a battle as though he had accumulated a vast
amount fo water and then let it go all at once. thousands of meters
deep into a valley." |

When applied to our corporate activities, this clause
indicates:
We have to develop our business activities by regarding any challenge
we meet as an enemy in a war. To defeat the enemies, we must know
them thoroughly and analyze them sufficiently so that we can be fully
prepared to win the war with the mighty power of accumulated water.

On the occasion of our 50th anniversary in 1997, our parent company,
Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. decided to make our nature protection activities
the main pillar of our social contribution activities, set up an internal
body named "Executive Committee for Nature Protection Activities",
and progressively promoting these works.
Inside and outside Japan we support, in cooperation with Keidanren
Nature Conservation Fund (Keidanren: Japan Federation of Economic
Organizations), the nature protection activities in Asia that are
implemented by the environmental NGO's. In our Sekisui Group, organizations
in various districts are promoting nature protection activities widely
in the respective local communities. |
